What the tests do with your data
All hardware tests on this site (keyboard, key code, mouse, microphone, webcam, dead pixel, monitor, gamepad and screen info) use standard browser APIs and process everything locally on your device. Keystrokes, mouse clicks, controller input, audio streams and camera streams are used only to draw the test interface in real time. They are never transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and they are discarded the moment you stop a test or close the tab.
Microphone and camera access always requires your explicit permission through your browser. You can revoke that permission at any time in your browser settings, and the device is released as soon as you stop the test or leave the page.
Accounts, cookies and advertising
MyGearCheck has no accounts, no sign up and no login. Separately from the tests themselves, this site may use cookies for basic analytics and may show advertising from third-party networks such as Google AdSense or Ezoic. Those networks can set their own cookies to serve ads, measure performance and limit how often you see the same ad. This is unrelated to the hardware tests above, which never send your input anywhere.
If you visit from the EEA or UK, you are shown a consent choice before any personalized ads or non-essential cookies are set, in line with applicable law. You can decline non-essential cookies and still use every test on this site for free.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like virtually all web hosts, Vercel may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address, requested URL and user agent) to operate and secure the platform. See the Vercel privacy policy for details on how they handle that data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, for example when advertising is switched on, this page will be updated first. Questions about privacy on MyGearCheck are welcome through the contact page.
